Never Say Goodbye
- by Lea Gillespie Gant / Illustrated by Maryn Roos
- Tommy Nelson, 2003
-
- "Netta reached out and took Hannah's hand.
- 'I have to go away,' she explained.
- 'Why?' asked Hannah.
- Netta whispered, 'It's time.'"
-
- So begins the beautiful story of Netta and Hannah, which
gently leads children through the pain of loss, to an understanding
that this life is not the end--far from it!
-
- Young children find it difficult (if not impossible) to understand
what they cannot see. Young Hannah wonders how she'll ever manage
without Netta's hugs, and Netta replies, "Remember my hugs
when God wraps you in sunshine." Later, when Hannah has
a hard time imagining how she'll get along without the silly
times they share, Netta assures her, "When the wind tickles
your ears...listen closely and you'll hear me laughing too."
-
- Books come and go, and the topic of death will always occupy
the thoughts of inquisitivie kids. Based on a series of typical
questions from a young child, this book conveys gentle answers
in a form that children will readily understand and embrace.
Lea Gillespie Gant is a gifted author whose writing evokes both
tears and laughter. Never Say Goodbye is a tender, unforgettable
work of art.
