it's all upstream from here
one of a series of stamp/collage meditations on the fate of the pacific salmon
original is
9"x12", collaged on black cardstock and crudely framed with a border
of hand-carved "one way" signs on quarter-inch foam-core. this piece
makes heavy use of resist stamping with clear and metallic embossing powders.
the primary fish was stamped in black on unryu paper, clear embossed and then
stamped again in blue, slightly offset, and embossed again. it's hard to see
in this scan, but the background includes many smaller versions of the same
fish, "swimming" in the opposite direction.

waves and one-way sign are hand-carved on mars-staedtler drafting erasers.
