Fine Fiber Press Kathe Todd-Hooker and Patricia Spark began Fine Fiber Press in 1999 to publish monographs and books on the textile subjects of tapestry weaving and feltmaking. Kathe and Pat wanted to write publications filled with information for the person interested in learning about these subjects. They bring the knowledge of over 30 years of experience being practicing artists and teachers using these fiber media to the books they produce. From the beginning, they also wanted to help tapestry and felt artists find the materials and equipment they needed to create their own art. Why the name Fine Fiber? Both Kathe and Pat create their art with very fine materials. In most cases, Kathe weaves her tapestries with sewing thread, while Pat use fine merino wool fiber for her pictorial felts.

Fine Fiber Studio Kathe and Pat began Fine Fiber Studio as a place to teach and to exhibit their own art work and the work of others. It is also our working studio - the place where we create our own art work. We maintain a small store at the studio where people can buy the books, equipment and materials that we carry in our online/mail order business. See hours below. As part of Oregon Crafted, the studio is open by appointment to the public the first full weekend of every month, 12:00-5:00. Call to make an appointment a couple of days before the weekend so we can plan for you. In addition, we can be open by appointment at other times. Call 541-917-3251 for more information.
