Fan that spark!

A special poem scrawled across a handmade greeting card. An adventure story, hidden away in a binder on your closet shelf. A letter to a friend or relative, written so beautifully, he or she replied, "You sure have a way with words!"

Most writers can tell you the very first time they felt a spark of talent rise up inside of them. Before long, they discovered that nothing seemed to satisfy as much as tucking away stories and poems and snippets of creative wordplay in a special notebook. Little did they know that those early writing experiences would one day lead them into a life's career.

If you're interested in writing, you probably have plenty of questions, like:

Nobody knows your interests like you do. Nobody knows your strengths, abilities, and dreams like you do. Because you are one-of-a-kind, it would be silly to compare your writing to anyone else's. When you finally realize this, it's a great discovery! Suddenly, you're free to write without worrying about whether others will like your writing or not.

Be true to yourself and begin right where you are. Write for yourself - just for the fun of it.Take time to develop your "way with words," and a unique writing voice will soon emerge.
