The Nettles Welcome Tapers!

As those who follow The Way of the Nettle know, The Nettles never play the same song the same way. Ever. So each performance is a separate ephemeral event. The Nettles recommend recording of their live performances.

You are welcome to record all performances of The Nettles provided that you follow some rules to ensure fairness:

All sound or video taping must be for personal, non-commercial use only, which may include trading (via analog or digital tape, CD, or digital file transfer).

Recordings may be traded only for an equivalent amount of similar media (cassettes or CDs, pre-recorded or blank). Regardless of any expenses incurred, no money may ever be exchanged as part of a trade; however, stamped, self-addressed envelopes may be included with blank media.

If you make a recording of The Nettles, please send a copy of that recording to The Nettles. Contact Kevin at (541) 757-1933 or kevin@TheNettles.com for the address.

Once we receive your recording this license goes into effect.

We recommend that you bring microphones and portable tape machines. No power will be provided; be prepared for everything. Please stay out of the way of the working crew at all venues. Please don't bug the sound guy, don't ask for a board tape, don't ask for a patch into the soundboard. Some things that are never allowed are: CD-R's, large mixers, reel to reel, home decks, extension cords, etc.

When The Nettles are performing at a festival or other event featuring multiple bands, that particular event's policy may override The Nettles' customary taping policy.

The enjoyment of the audience always takes precedence over recording efforts. This means that at no time should tapers ever require other patrons to be quiet or otherwise interfere with their enjoyment of the show.
