| Mark Rich Humiston, 19, of Albany died Tuesday in a traffic accident on Highway 20 between Albany and Corvallis. |
| Mark was born in San Francisco and lived in New York City before moving to Albany in 1989. He graduated from West Albany High School in 1995 and was attending classes at Oregon State University. |
| In high school Mark earned the Math Achievement Award for 1993 and 1994, and he loved to play baseball. He lettered in cross country and received the cross country team's Most Inspirational Award. |
| Active in Boy Scouts, he attained the rank of Life Scout, and belonged to Order of the Arrow. He was a member of Albany's Second Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. |
| Surviving are Karl and Bonnie Humiston of Albany; birth mother Karen White of Jackson, Mo; brothers Michael White of Arvada, Colo., Matthew Humiston of Redondo Beach, Calif., Thomas Humiston of Albany, W. Scott Rick of Salem, Michael Humiston of Heber City, Utah, John Humiston of Oceanside, Calif. and K. Fredrick Humiston of St. Marys, Ga; and sisters JennyLynn French of Pacifica, Calif., and Rhiannon White of Albany. |
| Mark is also survived by grandparents Katherine Humiston of Santa Fe, N.M., Waymon and Lillian Buerge of Salem, and William Rich Jr. of Salem. |
| The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, With Bishop Jack Cotterman officiating. Burial will be at Willamette Memorial Park. |
