How does Corvallis benefit from community gardens?

A community garden is a personal and neighborhood oasis…a natural retreat in a crowded urban environment

A community garden saves money…food is fresher, more nutritious, without preservatives and food harvests don’t require transportation, processing and marketing expenses

Gardening enhances a person’s psychological, spiritual and physical well being. The peace and tranquility of a garden counters stress and anxiety. It is a place for personal creation which builds self-confidence and is a friendly environment that eases feelings of isolation and loneliness. Outdoor exercise in fresh air and sunshine.

Gardening brings people together to work side by side and improves the neighborhood environment.

A garden is a place where nature’s intricacy, majesty, balance and fragility are in full bloom.
