The Touch

"The Touch" is a collection of new songs, and some re-mixes of tracks that had been hanging around our home recording studio for several years. The remixes some will recognize from "Run The Good Race", a cassette released in 1986 as a building-fund benefit for Zion Lutheran School in Corvallis, Oregon. A primary inspiration for writing many of these songs was Zion's former pastor, Jim Rehley, who seemed prone to late-in the-week requests for songs specific to that week's sermon topic. Often, we would even manage to involve our entire folk choir in singing these fledgling songs mere days after their creation! Those days represent perhaps my most prolific time period as a songwriter. Any number of personal projects require external moti-vators to prompt one to "get off the dime" and get done. Such was the case for this one! With our sights set on loved ones in New Jersey we made plans for a musical pilgrimage the summer of 2000, with four of our five sons. Many of our east coast relatives had not seen us in 15 years, (which means they'd never met three of our boys)! The Touch allowed us to leave a musical trail and help to fund what has been dubbed our "Pass The Hat Tour 2000". Thus we played our music for any and all as we traveled. We hope these songs are a blessing to you and yours. The "Pass The Hat Tour 2000"- (8,642 miles in that bus)

Our eight week "tour" during the summer of 2000 took us through 25 states, visiting many freinds & relatives along the way. Our music was warmly recieved at numerous churches, coffeehouses, and gatherings of friends & family. Our boys received great lessons in U.S. history & geography and the gas and oil industry of America received great sums of our money. It was truly a great adventure!!
