Some extremist organizations have claimed that "many judges and attorneys are still biased against women and fathers are awarded custody 70% of the time when they seek it".
THIS IS A BLATANT UNFAIR USE OF STATISTICS! Women get CUSTODY of children 90 percent of the time - TOTAL! Men, when they request custody, are awarded it (usually JOINT, non-residential) about 68 percent of the time. Except, OF THAT 68 PERCENT, 80 percent of the time, the mother *ALSO* HAS CUSTODY! When men seek custody of their children, they only receive sole custody 14 percent of the time!
What are these extremist organizations objective when they have to use statistics illegitimately to suggest that women are being discriminated against?
When women seek custody of their children, they are awarded CUSTODY -- whether joint or sole -- over 90 percent of the time!
When men seek custody, they get SOME custody -- joint or sole -- about 68 percent of the time.
Notice how different it seems after the whole situation is explained -- not just one side.
