first scarf: the long weekend (april 2004)
1 skein of Lion Brand Homespun. 1 big-ass pair of needles (15s). cast on 5 stitches. start knitting. go to the coast for four days with 13 wild theater women. knit all weekend in between hot-tubbing, cooking, dancing under the moon, eating and walking on the beach, occasionally adding in bits of found fiber and ribbon just for the hell of it. get of help from people who actually know how to knit. keep knitting till you run out of yarn.
result: one lumpy, 15-foot scarf that still manages to look kind of cool when wound around one's neck several times. and a new obsession.
