Meadows and Lake Kathleen Railroad - View Railraod Pictures

The M&LK RR is a private railroad never open to the public. We do however, often invite folks out who share our passion for trains and this beautiful planet we live on.........so if you fit that description, feel free to contact us with your desires. What we now call the "Meadows" was originally homesteaded in 1885 and is totally surrounded by National Forest Land. Here's some photos that paint a partial picture of our life in "railroad" country .

Our "rectangular" house where we store our motive power.

To me, this one picture tells the whole story of the fascination trains of any scale have on most folks.

Michael Wilhelm took this neat motion photo of the steam engine about half way between the first and second "Meadows" creek crossings.

We have crossed Meadows Creek once. This shows the second crossing before it flows into Deadwood Creek.

Trestle #1 and the first major crossing of Deadwood Creek which is filled with crawdads and Oregon Native Cutthroat Trout.

Spring switch #7 leading to trestle #1.

Looking back at the balloon track from spring switch #7.

Steve Mizera took this beautiful winter picture of our place....notice the railroad on the other side of the creek.

The watertower is spring fed and holds 450 gallons of water.

The train is about half way between the watertower and the tunnel. The two cars can hold 16 adults.

South enterance of 36 foot long Tunnel #1.

Entering Tunnel #1.

1793 coming out of north end tunnel #1.

A view north from the top of tunnel #1.

Guest Gordon Foster took this late fall picture of the big trestle.

Vern took this neat photo from the new streetcar.

Looking back at the safty (photo) platform.

A day or two after a good rain makes for a good picture of trestle # 3.

The first time the 1793 crosses trestle #3 we left the cars behind.

Vern took this photo from the west side of trestle #3.

Ray's Creek flows through a 36 inch culvert near the west end of trestle #3.

Hobo Camp is just out of the picture to the right as we approach the lake.

Beautiful Lake Kathleen is named after Kathy Robinson.

By the lake and into the cut.

End of cut and top of Blackberry Hill.

Ride down Blackberry Hill taken by Robert Streett.

Going by the really small goldfish pond.

Entering our small yard.

A view of our house looking across the main line and long pass track.

We're going through the yard. The first picture you looked at in this series was taken where the tracks seem to disapear.
