Sermon Notes for July 22, 2007

Sermon:  Lord, Not What I Want, but What I Need.     Mark 10:35-45
  1. “We are going up to Jerusalem ....”
  2. “Teacher ... we want you to do for us whatever we ask.”
  3. James and John want glory.
  4. They need, as we need, the Lord’s Service to us; his life-giving
      ransom on the cross.
  5. In the Lord’s Prayer we learn what we really need.
  6. The “cup” and “baptism” are also for us.

  The Lord takes away in order to give - He knows what we really need.
