Sermon:  The Lord Stoops Down to Lift Us Up 
Text:    Psalm 113

Outline:
  A. Psalm 113 reminds us of the greatness of God.
    1. There is terrible human suffering and poverty in this World.
    2. Humans struggle to explain suffering and why God allows it.
  B. Rather than remaining aloof from human suffering, God comes to love us. 
    1. He touched the lepers and wept with the grieving.
    2. Jesus took our load of sin on himself on the cross to save us.

  As the Lord Jesus humbled himself to raise us up, may we also extend
  ourselves, in His Name, to the poor and suffering.
