Sermon Notes for June 22, 2008

Sermon: "I Will Speak Your Decrees before Kings, and Anyone Else Who Will listen"
Text:   Psalm 19: 43-46

Outline:
  The Holy Spirit moves us to confess our faith with the same
  boldness as did the Augsburg Confessors in the presentation
  of the Augsburg Confession.
  1. The Spirit of the Confession at Augsburg rests and rises out
     of the Good News of Jesus Christ.
  2. The Spirit of Augsburg was eschatological, in that it recognizes
     the presence of Christ with his church.
  3. The Spirit of Augsburg was also ecumenical, in that it shares
     with other Christians the joy of Christ’s salvation.
  4. The spirit of these first Lutherans at Augsburg compels those
     who follow in their footsteps to be evangelistic.
