Lessons at Albany
from my flight diary: October and November, 2001
Humor at Albany: The FBO has a sticker that says, "Get a Higher Education. Learn to Fly at Reliant Aviation."

October, 2001. By dint of complex circumstances, but with absolutely no reluctance, I am now taking my lessons from Tim, my original instructor, who had moved over to nearby Albany. The details are unimportant to the average bear, but I do wish to emphasize that this has nothing at all to do with Jeremiah, Jack, or the OSU Flying Club, of which I am still a devoted member. I have the highest regard for ~all of my instructors and I know that they also regard me well. However it has everything to do with J&J's "boss"* Mike, who has never even flown with me. Albany is one of the very oldest airports in the west, with a historic hangar. You can taxi to a restaurant there with yummy food. Though tempting I try not to fly when I am hungry! Tim is a wonderful teacher --so of course I did not hesitate to follow him on over to Albany. He taught Ty to fly. As Ty's DE got out of the plane after his checkride, he smiled and told me that Ty did very well.
With Tim, I am now flying out of Albany airport with Reliant Aviation. The folks at Reliant have quickly made me feel right at home.
Tim has been absolutely steadfast --and as always --very keen on his responsibilities. He is the perfect combination of friendly professionalism, patience, and toughness. Each time I fly, I love it more and more! Ok, now to the pictures! They are more fun than words. Ty took the following pix of me and Tim at Albany.

Professor of 'Higher Education' and student again --here's more of a look at 25899 too.

On the runway at Albany. Ty took these pictures while watching me do some solo touch-and-go's.

Parking N25899. Learning taxiing and "parking" have been an extra challenge, but I am so glad to have stuck with it even when it seemed for so long that I had two left feet.
Starting shutdown and securing of N25899. Knox Butte is in the background. It is a good landmark and visual aid, as are the fairgrounds and new Expo Center buildings.
