Magnolia

In mid-March to early April our sixty year-old magnolia bursts into profuse bloom. Barely seen in the upper left-hand corner is our ham radio antenna tower. Flickers love to drum on it to proclaim themselves "king of the mountain".

After all the Oregon winter rain, a day with blue sky is most welcome. The tree hosts several species of birds each year, including hummingbirds.
