Jim and Susan Swayne's Garden
APS Annual Meeting, June 2001

It was as though I'd died and gone to Penstemon Heaven. This spacious and immaculate garden shows penstemon at their best, with natural aeolian soil, excellent air circulation --wind, minimal summer water, and plenty of light. P. barbatus and hybrids
P. barbatus and P. barbatus 'Rondo' and 'Cambridge', at least that is how it started. Now it is a mixed bag of hybrids since all the plants reseed easily.
