Ty is building cross-country time and is preparing for instrument lessons when he has enough x-c hours. He is a wonderful pilot and I always enjoy flying with him.
Medford on a beautiful October day. It still amazes both of us to be able to fly to such a spot in such good time. It is really cool to be able buzz down there for an afternoon getaway.
Ty looks everything over before we depart in N80773, an OSU Flying Club C-172.
Evening Flight
With Ty piloting of course, we took a lovely evening flight towards the foothills of the Western Oregon Cascades. We turned north and went to Aurora before it got dark. We did not want to be flying over mountains at night. Over the nose of the plane, Mt Jefferson is just beginning to show alpine glow. Sigh~
Now we have turned towards Aurora, our destination. For both of us, flying has been a deeply profound experience. Both of us feel that though the experience we are different people, and much the better for it. Flying is hard work and takes an incredible amount of discipline. But it is always rewarding and satisfying. Even when they come in brief moments, the joys are unmatched.
Night takeoffs and landings at Corvallis. Ty really greased all of 'em.
Lots of Helicopter Activity at Corvallis
